Abstract: 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy has been used to study the interaction of 5'-AM P with l-[2-(2-methoxyphenyiearbamoyloxy)ethyl]piperidinium chloride, a local anaesthetic drug. In 0.1 niolal solution (p2H = 7.25) the interaction between 5'-AMP and l-[2-(2-methoxyphenylcarbamoyloxy)ethyl]piperidinium chloride was demonstrated by the chemical shifts changes in the interacting parts of the two substrates. These changes were interpreted in terms of a molecular complex formation between the aromatic part of local anaesthetic and the 5'-AMP.
