Spontaneous and photochemical redox reactions of iron(II) and iron(III) bromo complexes in nonaqueous media

Abstract: The results of the study of spontaneous and photosensitized oxidation of Fe(II) to Fe(III), as well as the photoreduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) in the systems of Fe(II) and Fe(III) bromo complexes in the acetone—methanol mixtures are presented. Some kinetic data on the investigated reactions are given and their mechanism is discussed.
