Formation of heteropolyanions as a result of acid-base reactions in nitrate melts

Abstract: Acid-base titrns. curves for K2CrO4, Na2MoO4, Na2WO4, K3PO4, Na3VO4 (as function of bases) and I2O5 (as function of acid) were detd. by a potentiometric method. On the basis of the acid-base formal potentials, the conjugated Lux pairs were arranged in acid-base series. In the course of titrn. of a mixt. of anions of the type XO43- (or X2O74-) (X = P, As, V) and anions of the type ZO42- (Z = Mo, W) in suitable ratios with I2O5, complex anions [X2Z24O87]20- were formed. In further titrn. insol. salts appear having the anion [X(Z3O10)4]3-.
