Vibrational spectra of vanadium(V) compounds. II. Vibrational spectra of divanadates with nonlinear bridge VOV

Abstract:  The vibrational spectra of α-Zn₂V₂O₇, Mg₂V₂O₇, and Pb₂V₂O₇ were measured and assigned. Difference between wavenumbers of stretching vibrations of bridge bonds decreases monotonously with the angle V-O-V. The value of the difference can be used in order to estimate the configuration of bridge in divanadates, M₂V₂O₇.
