Chromatographic studies on the positions of the double-bonds unsaturated fatty acids

Abstract: Samples of sunnowerseed oil hydrogenated in the laboratory were oxidatively cleaved by ozone and the resulting dicarbonic acids were separated by paper chromatography the results of wich indicate that in the periods studied, significant shifts in the position of the unsaturated double bonds take place. Shifts in the double bonds in the chains of unsaturated fatty acids were observed also in the standards oxidated in various ways.
