Trimethylsilyl derivatives of saccharides

Abstract: In a study of derivs. of 2-aminosaccharides, the following compds. were prepd. according to Kuhn's (K., et al., CA 51, 4950g) method: tetra-O-(trimethylsilyl)-D-arabinose, b0.7 111-13°, n20D 1.4314, d20 0.9325, [α]24D -12.45° (c 3.2, pyridine), N-phenyl-tri-O-(trimethylsilyl)-D-arabinosylamine, n20D 1.4800, d20 1.0049, [α]23D 48.4 (c 2.6, cyclohexane), N-benzyl-tri-O-(trimethylsilyl)-D-arabinosylamine, n20D 1.4773, d20 1.0105, [α]23D -4.8° (c 4.3, pyridine), 2-amino-2-deoxy-N-phenyl-tetra-O-(trimethylsilyl)-D-glucononitrile, b0.03-0.04 158-62°, n20D 1.4760, d20 0.9849, [α]23D 73.4° (c 6.4, cyclohexane), and 2-amino-2-deoxy-N-benzyl-tetra-O-(trimethylsilyl)-D-glucononitrile, b0.01 140-5°, n20D 1.4721, d20 0.9731, [α]23D 26.9° (c 0.75, pyridine).
