Abstract: Barbiturates (I) in 0.2M Na2HPO4 give a characteristic dip at the curves of dE/dt = fl (E). During the growth of the drop, the redn. potential is shifted towards the more pos. values. Gelatin and aneurine exert a suppressive influence on the polarographic activity of I. The depth of the dip is decreased with a decreasing height of the reservoir. These findings can be utilized for semiquant. detn. of I in toxicol. analyses.
