A new electronic device for recording oscillographic polarograms with one cycle of alternating current

Abstract: The polarization of the electrode by one cycle of the feeding current with a relay switch is described. The electronic device was so constructed that it indicated the curves corresponding to a single cycle, the so-called 'first curves.' The arrangement was synchronized by the line voltage frequency. The current was supplied by an amplifier and through a series resistance built in the Polaroscope P 524. The amplifier was released by the pulse which was regulated by adjusting the phase of the synchronizing pulses. The repeating frequency of the pulse was given by a multivibrator which simultaneously controlled the time between shearing of the drop and the pulse. The duration of the pulse was adjusted continuously from 3 to 80 min. The superimposed d.-c. component of the output voltage was continuously regulated. The image was switched on the screen just for the moment of the polarizing pulse. By this arrangement the oscillog. first curves could be examd. in detail. The advantage is a complete reproducibility of voltage supply for the pulses, the exact maintaining of the adjusted parameters, and possibility of their choice in broad limits.
