Abstract: The formation of a white mass (I) which is a first step in manufg. of Parisian Blue (II) and its effect on the quality of II was studied. The compn. of I is K2Fe[Fe(CN)6]. I adsorbs FeSO4 and the amt. of FeSO4 in soln. is increased in the proportion to the amt. of FeSO4 used for pptn. The amt. of FeSO4 adsorbed on I is dependent on the concn. of the initial solns. and follows the known laws of adsorption. The concn. of solns., the speed, and the order of added components affect the quality to a less degree while the temp. of pptn. and the mol. ratio FeSO4:K4[Fe(CN)6] have a much greater effect. By boiling I in H2SO4 soln. for a long time, FeSO4 is desorbed and a ppt. of desired compn. K2Fe[Fe(CN)6] can be prepd. The quality of II is improved by increasing the amt. of K.
