Abstract: Refined vegetable oils (I) and distd. Me esters of the higher fatty acids (II) of soybean oil inactivate active bleaching clay (III) of the montmorillonite type even if I and II are prebleached. III has a great adsorption capacity up to 100° for paraffin oil (IV), which is decreased at 125-30° and inactivated at 150-60°. I and II may be blocking the same media of III which adsorbed Sudan Red III from C6H6 soln., but are not blocked by IV.
