Aptamer labeled nanozyme-based ELISA for ampicillin residue detection in milk

This study aimed to develop an aptamer labeled nanozyme-based ELISA method based on ampicillin/aptamer and peroxidase activity of gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) to detect ampicillin residue in milk. The commercially available ampicillin conjugated bovine serum albumin (ampicillin/BSA) was used as a ‘coating antigen.’ The aptamers labeled with AuNPs (Au-apt) were prepared and used as an ‘enzyme-labeled antibody’ to detect ampicillin in milk. A positive correlation was observed between the amounts of ampicillin residue and competitively bounded Au-apt. The remaining Au-apt bounded ampicillin/BSA was negatively associated with UV absorption values. The materials are easy to be prepared in the present method. This study simplified the material preparation and demonstrated high a selectivity, a low detection limit, and a good batch stability. The method developed in this study has the potential to improve the monitoring method of ampicillin residue in milk.
