Hydrogen-Bonded Ion-Pair Complexes [Ln(DMA) 4(H2O)3][Cr(CN)6] 2H2O (Ln = Sm, Gd; DMA = N,N-Dimethylacetamide): Crystal Structures and Magnetic Properties

Abstract: Two novel ion-pair complexes: [Ln(DMA) 4(H2O)3][Cr(CN)6] 2H2O (Ln = Sm, Gd; DMA = dimethylacetamide) have been synthesized. X-Ray crystal diffraction analyses reveal that these two complexes form hydrogen-bonded structure through CN group and H2O molecules. Variable temperature susceptibility for the GdCr complex indicates the weak antiferromagnetic interactions between cation and anion pairs through a hydrogen-bonded network.
