Abstract: The formation of stable ion-radicals of some organic compounds during the electrolysis of chloroaluminate melt has been shown. The cathodic discharge of cadmium, cobalt ions is stimulated by the ion-radicals formation. The influence of cation radicals is catalytic in nature, and the degree of stimulation is higher than that of anion radicals, and is caused by their adsorption on the Pt-electrode surface.
