On the Synthesis of Potential Ferrocene Liquid Crystals

Abstract: Condensation products of ferrocenecarbaldehyde and 1,1'-ferrocenedicarbaldehyde with 4-(N'-alkylpiperazinyl)anilines were prepared, and their liquid crystalline (LC) properties were examined. None of the prepared ferrocene derivatives possesses the LC properties.
