Conformational analysis of aminomethylene- and (1-aminoethylidene)propanedinitriles

Abstract: Synthesis of aminomethylene- and (1-aminoethylidene)propanedinitriles and their N-methyl- and N,N-dimethyl derivatives and their H-1 and C-13 NMR spectra, are described. Conformational analysis of methylamino derivatives was done using IR, H-1, C-13 NMR spectroscopy and compared with semiempirical (AM1, PM3, MNDO, MINDO3) and ab initio SCF calculations using DZP basis set.
