Chemical Reactivity and Nucleophilic Ring Closure Reactions of 3-Formylchromone

Abstract: The interaction between 3-formylchromone and primary amines such as sulfadiazine and thiosemicarbazide followed by nucleophilic ring closure has been studied. Structure of the products has been established on the basis of elemental analysis, IR, ¹H NMR, and mass spectra. The investigation indicates that the course of these reactions is governed by the medium and the reaction conditions.
