Synthesis and pesticidal activity of acyl derivatives of 4-chloro-2-aminobenzothiazole and the products of their reduction

Abstract: 4-Chloro-2-(acylamino)benzothiazoles were prepared by acylation of 4-chloro-2-aminobenzothiazole with acyl chlorides. The products were reduced by LiAlH₄ to afford 4-chloro-2-(alkylamino)- or 4-chloro-2-(aryloxyalkylamino)benzothiazoles, which in the following step undergo again acylation and reduction. The prepared compounds were tested for herbicidal, insecticidal, and fungicidal activity.
