Abstract: The mechanisms of PVC thermal dehydrochlorination in HCl atmosphere have been divided into two groups from the point of view of HCl interaction with double bonds of dehydrochlorinated parts of polymer chains. It has been experimentally shown that HCl catalyzes the dehydrochlorination by preventing zips termination.
