Abstract:  The solubility diagrams in the CdSeO3 —SeO2 —H2O and HgSeO3 —SeO2 —H2O systems at 298 К were studied for the first time. Two modifications of CdSeO3 , cadmium(II) diselenite CdSe 2 0 5 and cadmium(II) dihydrogen-tetrakis(selenite) Cd3H2 (SeO3)4 and mercury(II) dihydrogen-tetrakis(selenite) Hg3H2(SeO3)4 were prepared. The thermal stability and infrared molecular spectra of these compounds were studied and used to determine the force constants of the selenium—oxygen bonds and to characterize the hydrogen bonds present. Modifications of cadmium(II) selenite were studied by X-ray powder analysis.
