Preparation and characteristics of some 2,5- and 2,3,5-substituted oxazolidines

Abstract:  Fifteen new 2,5-disubstituted and 2,3,5-trisubstituted oxazolidines were prepared using the reaction of an aldehyde, ammonia and chloromethyloxirane, or of aldehyde and l-amino-2-alkanol in the presence of an acidic catalyst. The structure of the synthesized compounds was determined from the IR and mass spectra.
