Interactions of purine derivatives with 1-naphthol and 1,5-naphthalenediol in aqueous solutions

Abstract: The equilibrium constants of complexes of 7 purine derivatives with 1,5-naphthalenediol and of 5 purine derivatives with 1-naphthol were estab­lished in aqueous solutions at 20°C by using electron absorption spectrometry. The study of interactions has shown that the equilibrium constants of the complexes of the studied purines with 1,5-naphthol are generally higher than those of the complexes with 1-naphthalene and that the presence of further methyl and oxo groups, respectively, in the purine molecule results in significant increase of equilibrium constants of the formed complexes.
