Studies on complex-forming properties of N-(phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid and glycine-N,N-bis(methylenephosphonic acid) by electrophoresis

Abstract: The formation of complexes from N-(phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid (MPIDA) and glycine-N,N-bis(methylenephosphonic acid) (GDP) with 22 common and selected lanthanide cations was studied by paper electrophoresis. The compn. of the formed H, normal, and hydroxo complexes was detd. on the basis of the curves of electrophoretical mobility. An equation was derived for the calcn. of the stability consts. of the monohydrogen complex of MPIDA.
