Abstract: A method is described which permits the continuous recording of the transmittance for the temp.-dependent absorption band of isotactic polypropylene at wave length 11.89 μm as a function of time and temp. An abrupt change in transmittance on the transmittance-time curve corresponds to the destruction of cryst. order (or melting) of the sample.
