New complexanes. XXXVIII. D,L-N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-N-carboxymethylaminoacetic acid. Synthesis, study of acid-base properties, chelate formation with alkaline earth metal cations and divalent heavy metal cations

Abstract: The prepn. and study of new monoamine complexons, in particular D,L-N-(2,3-dihydroxypropyl)-N-carboxymethylaminoacetic acid is described. The stability consts. of the complexes ML of this compd. with Mg and Ca ions and the stability consts. of complexes ML and ML2 with bivalent Cd, Co, Zn, Ni, and Pb were detd. from the potentiometric neutralization curves. The stability consts. of CuL chelate was detd. by measuring the displacement equil. systems with 2,2',2''-triaminotriethylamine. The chelate formation and the charge of these complexes were proved by electrophoretic anal. over a wide pH region. From the results of polarog. study the formation of HgL2 chelate only was confirmed. All measurements were carried out at ionic strength I = 0.10 M (KNO3) and t=20°C.
