Preparation of 3- and 3,4-substituted derivatives of 2-pyrazolin-5-one

Abstract: The preparation of 3-octyl-, 4-methyl-3-octyl-, 3-methyl-4-(ω-methoxycarbonylbutyl)- and 4-(ω-methoxycarbonylbutyl)-3-octyl-2-pyrazolin-5-ones from suitable substituted β-ketoesters is described.
