Reexamination of the application of linear free energy relationships to the azaheterocyclic systems. I. Substituent effects on the basicity of monocyclic azines

Abstract:  Extensive sets of pK_a's for pyridines, pyrimidines, pyridazines, and pyrazi­nes are submitted to correlations according to both the Hammett and two-parameter Taft equations. Limitations of the correlation analysis of those systems are presented.
