Preparation and some spectral properties of substituted N-phenyl-5-methyl-5,6-dihydro-1,4-dithiine-2,3-dicarboximides

Abstract:  The preparation of substitutediV-phenyl-5-methyl-5,6-dihydro-l,4-dithiine-2,3-dicarboximides and of the starting 5-methyl-5,6-dihydro-l,4-dithiine-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride is described. The prepared imides have shown the linear dependence between v_as(C = 0) and Hammett a constants. I t has been found that the substituent on the phenyl residue has but slight effect upon the λ_mах of the electronic spectrum.
