Thin-layer chromatography of inorganic ions. III. Chromatography in the system formed from silica gel (impregnated with anion exchanger) and aqueous solutions of organic chelating agents

Abstract: The chromatographic behaviour of eighteen metal ions on silica gel layers impregnated with liquid anion exchangers tri-n-octylamine and Amberlite LA-1 has been investigated. As eluents the solutions of some hydroxy acids (lactic acid, tartaric acid, citric acid) and glycine in different concentrations and in different pH values have been used as well as the solutions of complexones (iminodiacetic acid, nitrilotriacetic acid, hydroxyethyliminodiacetic aoid, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) in the wide region of pH values. RF Values of ions vs. the concentration or pH value of eluents are presented in the figures. The results have been discussed with special emphasis on the possibility of analytical utilization of investigated chromatographic systems. Examples of separations are mentioned.
