Abstract: The polarity of θ-solvents (CHCl3-acetone, PhMe-acetone, C6H6-MeOH, CCl4-n-octane mixts.) has no effect on the intrinsic viscosity (η) and the unperturbed dimensions of chloroprene-dichlorobutadiene copolymer*(I). In all these solvent mixts. η is approx. equal to (mol. wt.)0.5. The dependence of the unperturbed I dimensions on its mol. wt. obeys the Stockmayer-Fixman relation. θ-Temps. were detd. for I in the solvent systems. The increase of θ-temp. by about 50.deg. decreases the unperturbed I dimensions by 15%. This is caused by the considerable sensitivity of I short-range interactions to the temp. changes.
