Abstract: The composition of the studied chelates of 2-acy] derivatives of indan-1,3-dione in water-ethanolic solution is as follows: [Fe(2-acylindan-1,3-dione)2 • 2H20]+, Ti(2-acylindan-1,3-dione)3 and U02(2-acylindan-l,3-dione)2.
The influence of the substituent on the stability of chelates is quite
opposite to its influence on the acidity of the ligand. 2-Benzoylindan-1,3-dione, as the most acidic from among the derivatives of indan-1,3-dione
we studied, forms the least stable chelates. In the formation of all chelates
we investigated, hydrogen of enol form of the pertinent 2-acyl derivative
of indan-1,3-dione is substituted by central metal cation.
