Polarography of 4-Substituted 4'-Isothiocyanatodiphenyl Sulfides

Abstract:  The Polarographie reduction of seven 4-substituted 4'-isothiocyanatodiphenyl sulfides was investigated in Britton —Robinson buffer solutions. The characteristic Polarographie data were either measured or calculated and the Qn,n reaction constant, obtained from the correlation of half-wave potentials with Hammett a constants was found to be 0.03 V.
