Separation of rare-earth elements from fission products of uranium by electrophoretic focusing

Abstract: After the extn. with Bu₃PO₄, pptn. with Fe(OH)₃, Ru (as RuO₄) distn., and anion-exchange sepn., the fission product mixt. was sepd. in an electrophoretic ion focusing app. in 5 min. From the half-life and γ-spectra, various isotopes of La, Ce, Pr, and Y were detd. and found to be of high radiochem. purity.
