Phase diagram of the 2CaO.Fe₂O₃-MgO system

Abstract: By using thermal analysis, the method of gradual heating to the liquidus temp., and the method of sudden cooling, the 2CaO.Fe₂O₃-MgO system was studied and the phase diagram constructed. Phase analysis gave the phase compn. and the region of the crystd. phases. This is a simple 2-component system with an eutectic composed of 2CaO.Fe₂O₃ 90.7 and MgO 9.3 wt. %. The temp. of the eutectic crystn. is 1374 ± 5°.
