The expression of concentrations in the isothermic ternary diagrams with the root measurement

Abstract: A graphic method is given for expressing the soly. of ternary systems, where the solubilities of individual components and their compds. differ considerably. In this method, the root from concns. of 2 components in the 3rd component (solvent) is plotted on the right-angled coordinate system. This results in enlarging the scale in the range of low concns. and diminishing it in the range of high concns. In contrast to the linear scale by this method the lines that sep. the fields of crystn. of different phases are not straight but curved lines. Soly. diagrams (at 25°) of systems Be₃(IO₅)₂.12H₂O-H₅IO₆-H₂O and KCl-PbCl₂-H₂O are given as illustrations.
