Chelates of resorcylidene-4-phenyithiosemicarbazone. III

Abstract: cf. CA 55, 24364f, 27189b. Solns. (2%) of (Ag+, Hg2+, Pb2+, Cd2+, Co2+) nitrates, (Fe2+, Cu2+, Ni2+) sulfates, and (Mn2+, Hg2+, Fe3+) chlorides were pptd. while boiling with 15 vols. of 0.5% soln. of the reagent in alc. Na acetate, NH3, or pyridine were added during the pptn. The salts of Zn2+, Sn2+, Sn4+, Cr3+, Al3+, Ca2+, Sr2+, Ba2+, and Mg2+ do not give visible reaction. The reagent may act as a monoor dibasic acid. Chelates of Co, Pb, Cd, Cu, Ni(NH3), Cupy, and Nipy were analyzed. The complex Cd(C14H11O2N3S).H2O is not stable.
