Abstract: From the Wohl (CA 40, 49304) development for supplemental free mixing enthalpy an equation was detd. which gives the relation between the relative volatility and the compn. of the binary system. Wohl's equation, log α = (1 + a1x1 + ... + amx1m)/(b0 + b1x1 ... + bmx1m), is similar in form to Hala's (CA 51, 12625b) equation α = (1 + a1x1 + ... + amx1m) / (b0 + b1x1 + ... + bnx1n) except that α, relative volatility, occurs in one case and in the other log α.
