Abstract: Dynamics of the adsorption of CS2 on the active C 'Supersorbon' at 22° were described. The results were expressed by the adsorption-isotherm equation for the 1st structural type of the active C: a = (0.482÷v) exp (-1.18 × 10-6)(T2÷0.372) [log (ps÷po)]2. At the adsorption vol. 0.213 cc./g. or over, which corresponds at 22° to the pressure p > 5.8 and the concn. C0 > 24.0, this equation expresses very well adsorption equil. of CS2. By graphic integration in the equation of the working height of the layer the theoretical curves were calcd. and applied to the economics of the process. Starting from the theory of the dynamics of the adsorption in continuous working columns and from the economics of the process, a criterion was derived that makes possible a simple detn. of the velocity const. All values measured in the wide concn. and velocity area after being changed into dimensionless form, fall into the corresponding area of the theoretical curve; this indicates that they can be utilized in practice.
