The stabilization of oils for electric insulation with vapors of resin acids. I. Theoretical

Abstract: A theoretical description of a new way to produce impregnation materials for high-tension cables from mineral oil and natural resin was given. An immediate absorption of vapors of resin acids into freshly refined mineral oil is responsible for a high kinetic stability at optimal elec. insulation properties of the impregnator. The mechanism of the stabilization was evaluated by correlation with the spectral analysis of the fractions derived from vacuum distn. of the natural resin.
