Spectrophotometric study of the reaction of cobalt with resorcylidenethiosemicarbazone. II

Abstract: The reaction of Co with resorcylidenethiosemicarbazone (I) in acid medium was studied. At pH 6.0, Co reacts with I in the ratio 1:2, and, by electrophoresis the formation of octahedral neutral chelate and octahedral anionic chelate were detd. Because of the great sensitivity of the reaction of Co with I, the validity of Lambert-Beer law was proven and optimum conditions for the photometric detn. of Co were detd. In KH-phthalate buffer soln. of pH 6.0 and at λ = 390 mμ it is possible to det. Co by photometric method in the amt. 2.94 γ in 50 ml. soln.
