Abstract: cf. CA 54, 22100f; 55, 14224h. By thermal analysis and by a visual method, the cryolite angle of the system Na3AlF6-Al2O3-CaF2-NaCl-MgF2 was studied. Liquidus curves of the cryolite angles of 2 plane cuts shown in 8 graphs were constructed. These liquidus curves are of the same type as of the system Na3AlF6-Al2O3-CaF2-NaCl. It was proven that the addn. of MgF2 decreases the temp. of primary crystn. of cryolite fusions and also decreases considerably Al2O3 soly. in the fusion. It was detd. that the addn. of NaCl decreases the temp. of primary crystn. of cryolite fusions approx. the same way as MgF2. NaCl decreases the soly. of Al2O3 considerably less than MgF2.
