Amino acids in fermentation media. V. Their composition in Slovak sugar-beet molasses

Abstract: cf. CA 54, 25053b. By electrophoresis on paper, amino acids were detd. in Slovak molasses manufd. in sugar-beet mills located in Trnava, Nitra, Sl´adkovicovo, Surany, Pohronsk´y Ruskov, Trebisov, and Vlckovce. The amts. were: aspartic acid 0.09-41, glutamic acid 0.33-0.54%, neutral amino acids (alanine) 1.89-3.19%, and γ-aminobutyric acid 0.48-0.59%. No measurable amts. of alk. amino acids were detd. These molasses were used in manufg. chlortetracycline.
