Preparation of Schweitzer's reagent which does not age

Abstract: The prepn. of Schweitzer's reagent from Cu(OH)₂ and gaseous NH₃ which did not change in 2 1/2 years is described. A modified Hostomsky method for dissolving cellulose in glass tubing is given.
