Oxidation degradation of cellulose under the conditions of preheating alkali cellulose

Abstract: Various kinds of preheating of alkali cellulose used in the manuf. of viscose fibers were studied. Preheating at 18-22° for 40-70 hrs. (classical type), at up to 65° for up to 25 hrs. (thermal continuous, 2 thermal discontinuous), and chem. preheating are described. The best results and the best curve of polydispersion were obtained by preheating at low temps. for a longer time (classical), where the no. of CO2H groups increases and CO groups decrease.
