Abstract: To check insecticidal properties of derivs. of N,N-disubstituted aliphatic esters of carbamic acid, 22 compds. were considered, from which two, 2-chloroethyl N,N-diethylcarbamate and 1,3-dichloropropyl N,N-dimethylcarbamate were prepd. As a contact insecticide on housefly (Musca domestica) they showed a little effect, with Cl3CClHCOOCNMe2 and Cl3CClHCOOCNEt2 giving best results. It was detd. that chlorination or lengthening the chain of mols. did not increase the insecticidal effect. The results obtained by Gysin (C.A. 49, 1265f) and by Kolbenzen, et al. (C.A. 49, 4224b) that N-methylcarbamates are more effective than N-ethylcarbamates were not confirmed.
