A mixture of aqua regia and KI as oxidation and solvent agent

Abstract: A mixt. of aqua regia and KI is very suitable for dissolving alloys and S compds. Aqua regia is added dropwise to the substance to be dipssolved and a like amt. of solid KI. After the reaction 2-3 ml. of aqua regia is added in excess and the mixt. heated. The reaction is finished in 20 min.
