The conditions for the formation of compounds of pyrogallol with molybdenum and tungsten

Abstract: Spectrophotometrically it was shown that colored ions exist in the system pyrogallol (I) and Na₂MoO₄ or Na₂WO₄ (II) in aq. soln. at pH 6.0-8.0 with a ratio 2 I:II and at pH 3.5 for I:II. The dissocn. consts. for the Mo and W dipyrogallolates were calcd. to be 2.1 × 10^-6 and 4.6 × 10^-8, resp.
