Analytical determination of l-phenylacetylcarbinol

Abstract: A method for the detn. of l-phenylacetylcarbinol (I) by paper chromatography in raw, biochemically prepd. I (ketol) is described. The system, isoamyl alc.-water in the reverse phase, is applied and tetrazolium blue is used. In the interval from 10 to 70 γ a linear relation was detd. between the amt. of I and the area of the spot.
