Abstract: An explanation is given of the measurement of ζ electrokinetic potential by an electroosmotic method as applied to suspensions of org. and inorg. matter in muddy carbonated beet-sugar juice. An app. for the measurement of electro.ovrddot.osmosis and of the influence of the surface cond. of the soln. in the capillaries of the diaphragm on the ζ- potential is described. The change in temp. of the tempered diaphragm, induced by the change of the elec. state during the measurement, was detd. The error of the individual measurement of the ζ electrokinetic potential was found to be ±7%, and the av. error was ±2 or as high as ±3.
