The polarographic reduction of formaldehyde in the mixture ethanol-water

Abstract: The kinetic wave of reduction of CHOH in buffered aq. solns. of EtOH was studied. The presence of EtOH decreased considerably the height of the limiting current which could be explained by the decrease of flow of free reducible aldehydic form of EtOH to the electrode.
