Abstract: Org. compds. contg. SCN and NCS groups and derivs. of 2-aminothiazoline were prepd. and tested against Mycobacterium tuberculosis (H37 Rv). None were shown to be effective as tuberculostatic agents in vitro. These compds. were: 5-thiocyanatoguaiacol, m. 105-6°; p-acetamidobenzyl thiocyanate, m. 148°; p-methoxybenzyl thiocyanate, b0.5 109°; tris(2-thiocyanatoethyl)amine, m. 147°; 2-(p-nitrobenzylamino)thiazoline, as hydrochloride, m. 254°, as a base, m. 142-3°; 2-(p-aminobenzylamino)thiazoline, m. 99-100°; 2-(p-methoxybenzylamino)thiazoline, as hydrochloride, m. 231°; N-(4-isothiocyanatobenzyl)acetamide, m. 164°; p-acetamidobenzyl chloride, m. 153°.
